After day two of the State Amateur Championship, four Broncos and a Vandal sit atop the leaderboard. Coming hot off of his five birdies in a row from day one, Josh Gilege maintained his position for first with seven birdies for the day shooting a score of 67 (-5). Tied with Gilege for first place, Skylar Eubank crawled his way up the leaderboard and managed to fire seven birdies as well. Eubank shot a score of 33 on both the front and the back to go 6-under for the day. After 36 holes, both Gilege and Eubank, who were teammates on last year’s Boise State team, are 10-under total as the final day for the title approaches.

In third place, we have the young Vandal, Jose Suryadinata, who had a phenomenal day shooting a score of 68( (-4). Suryadinata dominated the front nine with four birdies on holes 2, 5, 6, and 9. Not far behind Gilege and Eubank, Suryadinata will certainly be gunning for the title as well during the final round.

With one of the biggest comebacks of the tournament so far, John Baranco fired a 66 (-6) to climb six places into fourth. Baranco had six birdies and zero bogeys for the day. With Baranco in a groove, he is 7-under total looking to strike in round 3 of the tournament tomorrow. In fifth place, Alex Talbot shot a score of 69 (-3). Talbot had four birdies for the day.

The Men will be teeing off at 9:30 am on Saturday at Falcon Crest.
