After the second round of the Women’s State Amateur, Anna Kittelson held a 1 shot lead over Kelli Ann Strand. Rolling into day three, Strand and Kittelson were neck and neck all the way through the 18th green. Shooting scores of 33, both Kittelson and Strand had two birdies on the front nine. Kittelson managed to shoot 36 on the back nine birdieing holes 12 and 16. Following Kittelson’s lead, Strand made 2 birdies and an eagle on hole 12 to shoot 35 on the back nine. She entered the final hole only one stroke behind Kittleson. With the tournament on the line, Strand stuck her approach shot eight feet from the pin, and then successfully made the pressured birdie putt to force a sudden-death playoff. On the first playoff hole, Kittelson open the door by bogeying the hole and Strand became the 2021 Women’s State Amateur Champion with a par. Over the course of the tournament, Strand shot scores of 74-72-68 = 214 (-4). Finishing in second place, Kittelson shot scores of 74-71-69 = 214 (-3).
Day one leader, Brooke Patterson, finished in third with a score 74 for the final round. Patterson had a solid back nine with two birdies on holes 10 and 12. Patterson shot scores of 69-78-74 = 221 (+2). She is a Tulsa commit as she enters her senior year of High School
In a two-way tie for fourth place, Tya Seth and Emily Cadwell were 6-over for the tournament. Seth had a phenomenal final day digging into red numbers with a score of 70 (-2). Seth shot scores of 75-77-70 = 222 (+6). After the second day of the tournament, Cadwell had two birdies and eagled the 18th hole to tie for third with Patterson. Cadwell shot scores of 75-72-75 = 222 (+6).
