The IGA Player of the Year Rankings are used to determine the top amateur golfers in the state of Idaho each year. Ranking points are awarded based on finishes in IGA Championships, USGA Championships (and qualifying), and other top amateur events in the region.
Points will never be allocated to more than the top 50% of a given field and players finishing in a tie will receive the same number of points for the event. Players failing to make the cut receive no points.
Players are, in fact, eligible to win POY in multiple divisions in a single year. Points will be awarded to the age category in which a player is competing, as well as the category in which their age falls. Example: if a 58-year-old player earns points in a Men’s event, they will earn points in the Men’s POY race and the Men’s Senior POY race.
Tiebreaker: Most wins
Secondary Tiebreaker: Total events played
