The 2019 Senior Amateur is being held at Jug Mountain in McCall, Idaho. Over 100 players are in the field to compete for the title of State Champion.
2-Time defending champion Gary Vanier holds the lead for the Senior Men’s Amateur Championship. Vanier posted 4 birdies and two bogey’s ending the first round with a score of 70 (-2). First time Senior competitor, Scott Vermeer is hot on Vanier’s heels despite having an up-and-down round with 4 bogey’s and 4 birdies finishing the day at even par, 72. Three other players are only 3 strokes behind the leader.
Super Senior Men’s Amateur Championship is currently being led by Terry Spackman , who bogeyed the first hole and came back to card an even par, 72. Paul Lodge and Kip Reeder are one stroke behind Spackman going into day two.
Karen Darrington leads the Senior Women’s Amateur Championship with a 2-stroke lead. While starting the day by bogeying the first hole, and having two more during the front nine, Darrington came back with an eagle, and finished the day with a score of 74(+2). Kelly Loeb is 2-strokes behind Darrington after posting 6 bogey’s and 4 birdies. Crystel Baladez and Jill Pogue are one stroke behind Loeb and 4 strokes behind Darrington.
