Junior Amateur - Day 1

The 2019 Junior Amateur has moved north this year to the University of Idaho in Moscow. Over 140 Junior Tour Competitors have traveled across the state to compete for the championship title.

The Boys 13-14 Division has a close race with Blake Helms and Derek Lekkerkerk in the lead with 71 (-1), and 5 other players within 4 strokes.

In the Girls 13-14 Division, Emry Gibbs has a 4-stroke lead over 2 other players with a score of 76 (+4). Gibbs had 2 Birdies in her round.

Sam Pauly in the Boys 15-18 Division shot 69 (-3) and holds a 2-stroke lead over 3 other players.

Kelli Ann Strand led the Girls 15-18 Division with a 66 (-6) which included 7 Birdies, and an Eagle en route to a 7-stroke lead over Darby Rickel.

Tomorrow players will be competing to stay in the field and advance to the championship round.

The 12-U Series boys’ leader, Reid Piron had 4 Birdies in his first round, and posted an impressive 9-hole low score of 33 (-4).

Allison Shockey shot 43 (+6) and leads the 12-U Girl’s Division by 1-stroke. Tomorrow will be the championship day for the 12-U Series.
