The IGA is proud to announce that they have a new full time staff member coming on board.
Nicole Bird has been named the new Manager of Rules and Competitions for the Idaho Golf Association. Recently, Bird stepped down as the head Women’s Golf Coach for Boise State University, where she has served since 2007. Bird departs the BSU ranks as the longest tenured coach in program history.
Bird comes to the IGA having more than twenty years’ experience working in the golf industry as both a coach and a golf administrator. “I am very excited about the opportunity to work for the IGA”, said Bird of her new role. “This position allows me to go back to my start in golf which was running tournaments. It’s something I really enjoy and have missed since I’ve been coaching. It will be an exciting change and I look forward to the challenge!”
Aside from her role at Boise State, she has also served on the Texas Christian University (TCU) Women’s Golf coaching staff, as well as played an instrumental role with the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) tournament administration staff.
When asked about Bird coming on board, current IGA Executive Director Caleb Cox commented that he was “elated” that Nicole has decided to join the IGA team, and that he believes that Nicole is going to be a great addition to the team, and will have a great impact on Championship golf in Idaho.
With this announcement, the IGA will officially welcome Bird to the staff in late May, just in time for IGA championship season to begin.
