In the Boys Junior Qualifier, Mateo Fuenmayor, who will be a rising sophomore at Oregon State in the fall, shot an incredible score of 65 (-7) to advance as the medalist for the USGA Junior Amateur Championship in North Carolina. Fuenmayor’s best score while competing for Oregon State was a 68 (-4) in the third round of the Seattle U.
Wheaton Ennis from Eagle, Idaho finished second in the qualifier after a two hole play off against Will Strong. Ennis and Strong both shot scores of 69 (-3). Ennis has had an outstanding junior career, including a first place finish in the Scottsdale Junior Championship in 2020 with a score of 72-65-137. The two alternates for the event are Landen Gerrish (70) and Max Herendeen (71). The IGA wishes to congratulate the qualifiers and the alternates on a round well played today!
